The European Union has revealed plans to remove Ghana from a list of 12 countries blacklisted for illicit financial flows, money laundering and terrorist financing. The EU had earlier announced in 2020 that Ghana had been placed on the blacklist, a decision that Ghana considered unfortunate since they had stepped up efforts in meeting up with Financial Action Task Force (FATF)’s standards.

The EU is now waiting for FATF report before finalizing moves on delisting Ghana from the blacklist after a final review of Ghana’s FATF standards.
